Author Bert Ashe to speak at Chesterfield County library

Bert Ashe, author of “Twisted: My Dreadlock Chronicles” and a finalist for the Library of Virginia’s annual literary award for nonfiction, will discuss his book 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the LaPrade Branch of the Chesterfield County Public Library, 9000 Hull Street Road in Chesterfield.

As part of the process in embracing dreadlocks, Dr. Ashe will discuss his personal and historical journey and the questions locks raise about identity.

Dr. Ashe is an associate professor of English at the University of Richmond, and also authored “From Within the Frame: Storytelling in African-American Fiction.”

A book sale and signing will be held after his talk.
