The state Democratic Party announced Wednesday a change in the meeting to reorganize and elect officers for the Richmond City Democratic Committee from 6 p.m. Friday, July 20, to noon Saturday, July 28.

Location: Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, 1000 Mosby St. in the East End.

James E. “J.J.” Minor III, the former city committee chairman who was removed by the state party last month, said he had filed by Tuesday’s deadline to be a member, but was still mulling whether to run for the leadership post again. He served four terms in the role.

Mr. Minor and other officers were removed and the committee suspended after the state party’s Steering Committee upheld a finding of irregularities in the committee’s reorganization and elections last winter.
