It’s called the 9th Annual Holiday Hoopla.

And it’s a holiday festival that includes food, music and entertainment, including a basketball game.

And it all benefits student activities at Binford and Albert H. Hill middle schools in Richmond.

The hoopla takes place from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Binford Middle School, 1701 Floyd Ave., in the Fan District.

Highlighting the event will be the basketball game between the Binford Lions and the Albert Hill Tigers at 12:30 p.m., according to Ollie Hill, a member of the Binford Middle School Parent-Teacher Association that is organizing the event.

There also will be face painting and performances by the Binford band, choir, drama team and orchestra, Ms. Hill said. “You can even adopt a pet from the Richmond Animal League,” she added.

Food trucks and vendors also will be on site.

A raffle also will be held for a Samsung smart TV, Ms. Hill said.

The cost to attend the game and the dance afterward is $5.
