Congressman A. Donald McEachin and U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine are co-hosting a Service Academy Day information session for high school students and their parents.

Representatives from the nation’s military academies will talk about the schools and about the congressional nomination process for student admittance.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 16, at Matoaca High School, 17700 Longhouse Lane in Chesterfield.

Representatives are expected from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in New York, the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut, Virginia Military Institute, the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets and the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.
