Arts, crafts, storytelling and other activities will highlight the Virginia Children’s Festival from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the historic African Burial Ground, 15th and Broad streets, it has been announced.

This is the fourth year that Melendona, an Afrocentric online shopping site for women, has hosted the free event for young people and their families.

The menu of activities also includes drumming, face painting, vegetarian food and a variety of vendors offering information on everything from children’s books to home schooling, dance schools and yoga, according to the announcement.
