Virginia Union University will kick off this year’s homecoming festivities with a live gospel concert and recording presented by the Hezekiah Walker Center for Gospel Music at VUU on Sunday, Oct. 15. The 6 p.m. event will take place at United Nations Church, 214 Cowardin Ave.

“This is the first time that the VUU Gospel Choir is doing a live recording. This is VUU history!” said Michele Clay, director of VUU’s Hezekiah Walker Center. “But this experience is more than that. It is an opportunity for people to come together for an impactful worship experience and it is a great opener for this year’s homecoming events.”

The concert will include performances by special guests Crystal Aikin, winner of the inaugural season of “BET’s Sundays Best,” Jermaine Dolly, gospel artist, singer and songwriter, Group Fire and more.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at hezwalkeratvuu.com.
