Former Virginia Commonwealth University star Treveon Graham is making a strong bid to earn a spot on the roster of the NBA powerhouse San Antonio Spurs or on their Develop- ment League team.

Graham, a 6-foot-6 All-Atlantic 10 top performer, came off the bench Monday and scored 22 points to help lift the Spurs to a 93-90 win over the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League Championship in Las Vegas.

Both summer league teams were comprised of players the teams drafted in June, undrafted rookies like Graham, free agent signees and other young players vying for spots on NBA or D-League teams.

Graham’s stellar effort also helped Becky Hammon become the first female head coach to guide a team to the NBA Summer League championship.

Last season, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich named Coach Hammon as the first female assistant coach in NBA regular season history.
