Ransom is VSU’s fall commencement speaker

Virginia State University’s fall commencement speaker is by Thomas L. Ransom, president of the Virginia Region at Truist Financial.
A 20 plus-year veteran of Truist, Mr. Ransom’s career with the bank has been defined in large part by addressing issues in Black-owned businesses. He previously led the Truist HBCU strategy, which worked to ensure the success of students enrolled at historically Black colleges and universities. He also has served as the inaugural chair of Truist’s resource group for Black teammates and allies.
Mr. Ransom’s other roles have included Truist’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, chariman of the Corporate Advisory Council for the U.S. Black Chambers, and serving on the national board of INROADS.
VSU’s fall 2022 Commencement ceremonies is at 10 a.m. on Dec. 10, in the VSU Multipurpose Center.
