The new board members include Victor Branch, senior vice president and market manager of corporate affairs for Bank of America; Robert Denton Jr., founding director of the School of Communications at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; Harold Green Jr., a Bon Secours physician; Thomas Cosgrove, senior manager of External Affairs, Newport News Shipbuilding; and Leonard L. Dr. Valerie Brown, executive pastor for the Mount Global Fellowship of Churches, was reappointed to the board.

“We are excited about our new board members and the level of expertise and wealth of knowledge they bring to VSU,” VSU President Makola M. Abdullah said in a statement. “I look forward to working with our board to continue strengthening our university and providing a transformative educational experience for our students.”
