The Metropolitan Business League (MBL) will host its “Women Who Mean Business Summit” on Friday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Richmond Marriott, 500 E. Broad St.
“This daylong conference promises to be an extraordinary experience and it’s a time for women to come together and talk about leadership as well as innovative ideas that they have in their businesses or in their careers. It’s just a wonderful opportunity for us to empower, encourage and inspire each other,” said Darricka Alexander, MBL event strategist.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Courage to Lead: Redefining Strength, Embracing Our Fortitude.” Kelley Powell Williamson, president of KelleyWPowell Inc., local entrepreneur and author is the opening speaker.
A keynote address will be given by Kim Alexis Newton, founder of Alexis Enterprises, LLC. Ms. Newton will share how she stepped out on faith to leave a corporate job at Hallmark to start her successful quilting business. The event also will include breakout sessions focused on building dynamic relationships, mentorships and networking.
