For the week ending Saturday, April 5, COVID-19 represented 0.8% of all emergency department visits in Virginia. Overall, respiratory illness rates remained low and continued to trend downward compared to previous data. No COVID-19-related deaths were reported at press time.

As of March 2, COVID-19 wastewater data for Richmond was unavailable, but levels in Henrico County remained steady. CDC monitoring from March 23 to 29 detected high viral activity across Virginia, with reports from six sites statewide. The highest concentrations were found in the northwestern and southwestern regions, as well as in Petersburg.
