In observance of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 1, Richmond, Henrico County and Chesterfield County government offices will be closed, along with state and federal offices.

Courts in Richmond, Henrico and Chesterfield also will be closed. 

Richmond Public Library, Henrico and Chesterfield libraries and the Library of Virginia will be closed. 

The Central Virginia Waste Management Authority will have no pickup Monday. Trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day Sept. 1-5, with Friday collections sliding to Saturday. 

Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers will be closed. All Virginia ABC stores will close at 6 p.m. The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail or packages, and mail centers will be closed. Banks and other financial institutions also will be closed. 

GRTC buses will operate on a Sunday schedule Monday. The administrative office will be closed. 

The Richmond Free Press offices will be closed Monday.
