Cam Newton to host Super Bowl Soulful Celebration on BET

Former NFL MVP Cam Newton will host the 27th annual Super Bowl Soulful Celebration, airing Saturday, Feb. 7, on BET, bringing together music, faith and football during Super Bowl LX week.
T h e one-hour special features performances by Pastor Mike Jr., Lalah Hathaway, Jamal Roberts, LaRussell, Miles Minnick, the NFL Players Choir and South Carolina State University’s Marching 101.
“This year’s format allows us to slow down and be more intentional,” said Melanie Few, founder and executive producer of the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration. “By creating space for deeper storytelling, intimate performances, and meaningful moments of reflection, we’re able to honor powerful voices, impactful leaders on and off the field, and the spirit of community that has defined the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration for more than 25 years.”
This year’s honorees include Randy Moss, who will receive the Lifetime of Inspiration award; Jameis Winston, named Faith in Action honoree; and Javon Hargrave, recognized with the HBCU Player Spotlight. Hargrave is a South Carolina State University graduate.
The program also includes a Community Impact Spotlight presented by Disneyland Resort, featuring a surprise trip for the Almond family of the San Francisco Bay Area. NFL veteran Keenan Allen is scheduled to appear during the segment.
Founded in 1999 for Super Bowl XXXIII, the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration has become a long-running Super Bowl week tradition, blending music, testimony and tributes to highlight athletes, artists and community leaders.
An encore presentation is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 9.
