The Virginia Union University women’s track and field team hit the ground running at the VCU Invitational on Jan. 9, turning in strong performances in their first meet since winter break.

“The VCU Invitational was a great opportunity for us to knock the rust off and get some quality work in at our first meet since returning from winter break,” said VUU Head Track & Field Coach Franck Charles. “Our main focus was getting our athletes back into competitive shape and, while some inconsistency was expected this early in the season, we showed up and competed well across the board.”
