Happy Birthday, Mrs. Walker.
The festivities also included tours of Mrs. Walker’s Jackson Ward home on West Leigh Street, which has been preserved by the National Park Service. Superintendent Doyle Sapp and site supervisor Ajena Rogers of the Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site, recognize graduates and their families of the Maggie L. Walker Summer Youth Leadership Institute Class of 2019 during events outside Mrs. Walker’s home. The institute, now in its 10th year, provides Richmond area students ages 14 through 18 with a two-week experience building leadership skills while doing volunteer work in the community. (Regina H.
