Members of the 50th reunion Class of 1969 were recognized during the ceremony. The Class of 1969 was the first to graduate from Norfolk State College, which became an independent institution of higher education on Feb. 1, 1969. Dr. Javaune Adams-Gaston, a senior vice president at Ohio State University, is expected to take over as NSU’s seventh president in June. (Randy Singleton)
