Signs of spring abound, from robins to daffodils to baseball. Here, Nutzy, the mascot of the Richmond Flying Squirrels, climbs the steps of The Diamond baseball stadium to kick off the team’s first event of its 11th season — a block party last Saturday at the stadium on Arthur Ashe Boulevard. Nutzy’s Block Party included live music, dancing, local vendors and ballpark tours. It was the first opportunity for fans to buy game tickets before the season home opener on Thursday, April 16, against the Bowie Baysox of Maryland. The Richmond Flying Squirrels are the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
