Virginia State University completed its $84-million Multi-Purpose Center in 2016. On Oct. 1, the 165,941-square-foot facility will play host to one of three U.S. Presidential 2024 debate sites. The venue has a seating capacity of 5,100 to 6,100, and earned ASID Carolinas Excellence in Design First Place Award in 2017.
