Cityscape Slices of life and scenes in Richmond-Richmond Mayor Danny Avula and City CAO Odie Donald join participants in the fourth Run Richmond 16.19 on Sept. 27 at Kanawha Plaza. Organized by the Djimon Hounsou Foundation, the cultural run-walk takes participants on a journey through more than 400 years of Black history, commemorating the sacrifices and achievements of African Americans. Hounsou said Richmond was chosen as the host city because it was the entry point for the first enslaved Africans brought to North America, marking the beginning of the transatlantic slave trade.
