Construction crews repaved Leigh Street from Myers Street to North Allen Avenue, just be-
hind the Science Museum, on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024. The work was expected to be completed
in time for the Christmas Parade, which begins at the Science Museum, providing an alternate
travel route while Broad Street is closed.
The repaving precedes plans to reorganize bike lanes as part of two new quick-build bike lane
projects announced by the Department of Public Works on Nov. 14. These projects, part of the
city’s Vision Zero initiative, aim to improve roadway safety and access.
