The labyrinth at the Innerwork Center at Loxley Road and Westwood Avenue on North Side, seen on Wednesday, offers a walking meditation and, unlike a maze, has only one path in and out. The center is a nonprofit that has operated for 30 years.

Hibiscus bloom outside Oliver Hill Courthouse

Forest Hill Park’s newly renovated playground was unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday morning, July 23, with state and local officials in attendance.

Children and families enjoyed the swingset and other features following the ceremony.

Hundreds attended the American Muslim Heritage Celebration and the Ayida exhibition at the Institute for Contemporary Art at Virginia Commonwealth University on July 26. The event featured cultural displays, henna, flag face painting, videos on the history of Islam in America, food and a designated prayer space.
