Melana Jacks raises her diploma over her head after graduating from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Virginia State University’s spring commencement ceremony May 17 at the VSU Multi-Purpose Center. The university held multiple ceremonies over the weekend to honor graduates from various colleges and programs.

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend, all of Richmond’s outdoor pools will open to the public starting Saturday, May 24, at noon. For the first week, pools will operate on a holiday schedule: open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from noon to 7 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Regular weekday hours begin Monday, June 2.
