A group that was launched two years ago to provide Black pastors with information on Covid-19 and other health issues to share with their congregants received recognition from City Council Monday.

The council presented its community service award to Facts and Faith Fridays and its founders, Dr. Robert Winn, a specialist at VCU’s Massey Cancer Center, attorney Rudene M. Haynes and the Rev. F. Todd Gray, pastor of Fifth Street Baptist Church.

According to the citation, Facts and Faith Fridays, which links medical professionals and ministers, has proven to be “a tremendously successful forum for sharing important healthcare information, dispelling falsehoods and strengthening the resolve and outcomes ... as it has reached many thousands of people.”

As a result, the citation continues, the program has helped make Richmond a better place.
