Approximately 75 candidates will be sworn in as newly naturalized citizens during a July 4 ceremony in partnership with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

The ceremony will be officiated by the Honorable Roger L. Gregory, Chief Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture, 428 North Arthur Ashe Boulevard. It will be free and open to the public.

Following the ceremony, guests are invited to participate in a special July 4th celebration that will take place outside on the Dominion Energy Plaza. Live music, face painting, a bounce house and birthday cake will commemorate the 247th anniversary of American Independence.

Inside the museum, visit the VMHC Library to see a selection of Early American artifacts or test your knowledge with civics-related activities.
