Steph Curry will be in an unusual role for this year’s NBA All-Star Game.

He’ll be coming off the bench. The other-worldly Golden State Warriors’ guard was not among the Western Conference starters released last week. Curry has been a starter nine times in the past. He’s never come off the bench.

The game will be played Feb. 18 in Indianapolis with TNT covering the 8 p.m. ET tipoff.

Western starters will be Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, Dallas’ Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant of Phoenix and Denver’s Nikola Jokic.

The Eastern starters are Tyrese Haliburton of Indiana, Boston’s Jayson Tatum, Milwaukee’s Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo and Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid.

Antetokounmpo and James are the captains of their teams.
