The Diamond last Saturday during the Richmond Flying Squirrels' Fourth of July weekend home stand against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies Ponies of New York. Additional upgrades are taking place in Byrd Park’s Reservoir, which was built in 1897 and has served residents of Richmond and surrounding counties since then. The reservoir operates as two finished water tanks. Upgrades and maintenance have occurred over the years to ensure peak operating capacity. Richmond’s Department of Public Utilities is making improvements to the distribution system’s reliability and to increase the operational flexibility of facilities associated with the reservoir. This tank rehabilitation project will be completed in two phases.

Hopewell brothers jailed 72 days until charges dropped

At first, the story seems all too familiar. Two Hopewell teenagers rob two pedestrians at gunpoint near a private school, but are quickly caught when responding police officers scour the area and arrest them a few minutes later as they are buying sodas and pastries at a nearby convenience store. With police boasting about having strong evidence, the teenage brothers are kept in jail for two and a half months — twice refused bond because they are charged with a crime of violence involving a weapon. But just as suddenly, the case evaporates. The evidence does not stand up, and the brothers are freed to resume their lives.
